Not a word about kabaddi world cup in the news papers!!

Kabaddi world cup is going on and the news papers have not mentioned any thing about it. Not a word. They say they want kabaddi to be included in 2020 Olympics.  We have many countries  taking part in this world cup, but newspapers  in their sports  column  want to write about  only cricket. Haa! Pathetic. What kind of reporters do they hire?

And dare I ask why don't  they have any white player in the USA kabaddi team? It seeems a little odd to me.

Anyways,  I love kabaddi and I am happy that it has an international platform now. I only wish the newspapers  write everything  and anything  about all kinds of sports and not just cricket.

I'm fat and happy!
Some years ago I was taking a regular Hindi class and one of my students wanted to learn how to say "I am fat, but I am happy"in Hindi.
Even today I think about that fat, chubby and enthusiastic boy who used that sentence and really meant it. How many can really say that? Does fat necessarily mean you are unhealthy? Do thin people never get any pains and heart attacks? Is it just a craze going around that people think you are fit and fine, if you are thin?
I was neither very thin nor very fat until I was 35 years of age. But then after 35 I bacame fat. And I had several people giving me advice to lose weight. I thought there was nothing wrong if I look my age. I don't want to look 20 when I am 40. Why shouldn't I be proud of my age, my body and my experience of life? I am not sure if I have diet fat or harmonal fat, whatever it is, I'm not afraid of it.
Think of your mothers and grand mothers. They were all fat in their 40s and 50s. They all turned thin after 55. It is the way God has created us. Both men and women have round bellies after a certain age. Why do you want to fight nature?
Think of the old Hindi-Punjabi movies where fat was not bad. A fat girl or a boy were described as "khate-peete ghar ke log." (person who belonged to a rich and prosperous family, who never ran out of food.) Well nobody thinks like that any more.
Fat or no fat, what really matters is that you are healthy, and don't live on pills. If you visit your doctor only once in an year and that too not for a major ailment, then you have nothing to worry about. If people think you are fat, its their problem. Be happy guys, meditate, walk if you can't do yoga or gym, do all that you want to do, enjoy food and also life. We live only once.

Teachers need a magic wand

“I am paying one and a half Lac rupees as fees. Why is my child still not doing well in studies?” asked one of the parents to the class teacher in the PTM meeting. As if, paying a huge amount of fees is going to turn a slow learner, in to an A+ student, over night.

Neither the parents nor the management have any idea what kind of hell a teacher goes through at school in Hyderabad. The class rooms would be crowded with 25 to 48 students in ordinary schools. The teachers have a lot of work pressure like covering the syllabus, corrections, conducting exams, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, making teaching aids, attending meetings, extra work for celebration days, etc. they can’t even eat their lunch alone peacefully. They have to eat with the class and check if everyone is following rules there as well.

School hours are not enough and most of the teachers carry their books and papers home to finish assessments.

Most of the schools in Hyderabad pay their teachers anything from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 25000 as salaries. Language teachers and primary class teachers are paid the lowest. Math teachers are paid the highest. The schools with fancy and posh names pay decent salaries but the pressure is the same. Some schools don’t have PF accounts and some don’t give any kind of leaves, neither sick leave nor casual leave, even for a single day. Their absence means loss of pay for that day. You are expected to be perfectly healthy and not have any functions or emergencies ever.

Teachers can’t quit because a bond is signed and their original certificates are kept by the management. It’s a trap for one academic year and next year the teachers join another school to face new atmosphere and a new kind of torture all over again.

It’s almost a sin to sit in the class. No chairs are kept for teachers. The old teachers with knee pains are rudely told to quit their jobs, but not allowed to sit.

Who is to be blamed for dowry deaths?

I sometimes am surprised, saddened and shocked to read about dowry deaths in the newspapers. Seriously in today’s age and time when we think we are doing progress in society, this kind of news shows us the reality mirror. Are these grooms accepting that they are boneless, spineless and shameless creatures who can’t buy things for themselves? Are the brides giving dowries and buying grooms, because they can’t find true love? The real culprits are the parents of these brides and grooms. They should be abandoned from the society.

Hey guys, I think we should stop attending weddings where they take or give dowry.

Girls should not accept marriage proposals from such families, who have a big, greedy wish list.

The pathetic, unemployed, good for nothing Romeos are better off as bachelors. They don’t deserve a life partner.

when you have known perfection, compromising for any thing less is so difficult.
